5 Books to help you cope with your problems

It is not uncommon for us to face difficulties in our lives and sometimes even in everyday tasks. In life, there are always ups and downs but what we need to do is to never give up and always look for solutions. That’s why I’m going to enlist some of the books that can help you cope with problems such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and so on.

  1. Ikigai – Hector Garcia (Kirai) & Francesc Miralles                                                                  This one book I have read myself and it actually helped me a lot so I really recommend it. It learns you how to live in harmony and to feel good about yourself. It also teaches you how to eat, exercise, work and be happy while also exploring the japanese culture. You get to know the stories of people that are way over 100 and still being able to work and enjoy life at it’s best.

2. The Book of Joy – Dalai Lama & Desmond Tutu

The Book of Joy is a conversation between the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu about finding joy and happiness in the face of suffering and grief. The two old friends met in India for the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday, and they had long discussions over several days.

Writer Douglas Abrams helped facilitate the dialogue, asking questions and taking detailed notes. The reader gets the benefit of both the wisdom of the spiritual leaders and an outside perspective on how the two friends interacted and behaved.

3. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson

Another book that I honestly recommend because it REALLY helped me a lot. I was going through a rough time and I was so worried about everything that it started to hurt me. This book helped me relax and be myself again with all my flaws. It learned me to let myself be and to accept myself and everything that was going on in my life because I knew I couldn’t control any of those things.

4. The Art of Happiness – Dalai Lama & Howard C. Cutler

This one little book will help you be at peace with yourself and learn to appreciate little things. Book quote: “Happiness is determined more by one’s state of mind than by external events… Although you may not always be able to avoid difficult situations, you can modify the extent to which you can suffer by how you choose to respond to the situation…”

5. Hygge:The Danish Art of Happiness – Britta Olsson

This beautiful book will provide you with recipes, case studies, photos, interviews, instructions for home decorations and opinions. You will also find while reading the book some beautiful (and helpful) photographs. The book cover itself it’s even more gorgeous. Now Danish actress and hygge aficionado Marie Tourell Søderberg has traveled the length and breadth of her home country to create the perfect guide to cooking, decorating, entertaining and being inspired the hygge way.
