Why read The Cruel Prince

Cruel Prince by Holly Black is a Young Adult Fantasy book that will bring sunshine in your life, will fix all of your problems and will learn you how to put knives under pretty boys throats and make them beg for their life.

Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

This book is like nothing you have read before. The characters and the storyline are totally unique and peculiar. Nothing of what you’re expecting to happen in the story actually does.

From left to right in order: Oriana, Vivi, Jude <3, Madoc, Taryn, Cardan <3, Locke, Nicasia and Valerian.

The one character that I really adored was Jude. She was the type of protagonist that wasn’t all perfect, cute and quirky, but exactly the opposite. She was sharp and stubborn and full of ambition, with lots of flaws and mistakes. She was unsure and anxious but she was deadly and prideful. I really enjoyed her character’s development and her actions especially at the end of both books, really shocking, much wow.

Also, Cardan is both a villain and a babe, but not your typical one, he has a tail too. His actions aren’t predictable at all and he does things that sometimes seem stupid but the reason behind is really genuine.

If the first book seems crazy, the sequel is even more and the last book is going to really shut the light.
